He may have been born in a village named Tservo near the city of Prilep

He initially went to Dayton, Ohio and stayed there for a while -- duration unknown.
For a short while in the Midwest, he used the name Peter Johnson.

He then went to Biddeford, Maine due to the large Greek community there.
Arrival in Biddeford unknown.

He worked in the mills of Biddeford for a while.

Peter stayed with a French family named Berard.
The daughter Blanche Berard and Peter could not converse in the same language,
so Peter said that they talked the "language of love."
